The fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world. All of us in the industry are part of the problem in one way or another. Here are some of the keys to understanding Lavandera’s role in being more responsible to people and the planet.

Production

Our workshops are located in Spain within 600km of our San Sebastián headquarters. Local production allows us to ensure the working conditions for our team and oversee every step of the manufacturing process.

Distribution

Whenever possible, we reuse cardboard and plastic for shipping and packaging our products.

Fabrics

All our fabric suppliers are European. Our main partner countries are Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany and France.

We believe in the responsible use of raw materials in order to minimise our environmental impact.

The fabrics in our collections faithfully reflect this commitment and are a fundamental part of Lavandera's philosophy.

Fabric Upcycling

At LAVANDERA we give a second chance to surplus fabrics.

In our effort to minimize the waste generated in the production process and in collaboration with the RECOVO platform, we make surplus fabrics available to the public each season.

If you are interested in obtaining any of our fabrics, you can do so at https://recovo.co/

Reused

We use upcycled materials. Our fabrics are purchased based on an exhaustive selection of surpluses from other fashion brands and textile manufacturers.

Since our materials are sourced from other companies, the amount of fabric we acquire is limited. This is one of the reasons behind our limited-edition collections.

Recycled

We work with suppliers that develop textiles made with recycled thread, mainly from wool, cotton and polyester fibres.

Certifications

All of our fabrics are certified with leading environmental certifications, like GOTS, GRS, OEKO-TEX and ECOLIFE.

Energy

At LAVANDERA we consume 100% renewable energy.
